Marten Kooistra is a member of Okapi Partners' London team, providing clients with shareholder intelligence, proxy solicitation, governance advisory, and a broad range of investor response services. He brings hands-on experience across more than 20 markets European markets primarily spanning the EMEA and APAC regions making him a valuable resource for clients navigating cross-border transactions and shareholder engagement in international markets.

Marten's expertise covers the full spectrum of investor response situations, including M&A transactions, activist campaigns, tender and exchange offers, retail campaigns and general meetings. He also advises clients on the design and execution of shareholder communications and engagement strategies, combining analytical depth with an ability to work effectively across different regulatory environments and investor cultures.

Prior to joining Okapi, Marten served as Director of Shareholder Engagement, M&A and Corporate Advisory at Investor Update, the London-based shareholder intelligence firm that became a strategic partner to Okapi when the firm launched its London office in 2023. Earlier in his career, he held positions at the London offices of Georgeson and CMi2i building the deep cross-border experience that defines his practice today.

Marten holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and Management from NHL Hogeschool in the Netherlands.
Marten is fluent in German and Dutch.
