Walter Schuplak is a Managing Director at Okapi Partners and leads Okapi Market Intelligence Group LLC, the firm's dedicated market surveillance and shareholder identification platform. With several decades of experience analyzing complex and rapidly shifting corporate shareholder compositions, Walt is one of the most seasoned practitioners in the stock surveillance field — bringing both deep analytical expertise and an extensive network of market relationships to every engagement.

Walt founded the Market Intelligence Group LLC in 1998 and built it into a specialized firm assisting hundreds of corporate clients on stock surveillance, shareholder identification, bondholder identification, and institutional targeting.

Okapi Partners acquired Walt’s firm in 2018 and Walt joined as Managing Director to head the newly formed Okapi Market Intelligence Group subsidiary.

Earlier in his career, Walt held senior management roles and his career in shareholder intelligence and proxy solicitation spans over 40 years across both routine annual meeting work and high-stakes corporate control assignments.

Walt holds a B.S. from St. Peter's University.
