Marten Kooistra provides clients of Okapi Partners with proxy solicitation and governance advisory and other investor response services. He has a wealth of experience across the proxy, shareholder analytics and corporate advisory disciplines in more than 20 markets, primarily spanning the EMEA and APAC regions. Marten’s diverse skillset includes expertise in mergers & acquisitions, activist campaigns, tender/exchange offers and general meetings, as well as helping clients shape their shareholder communications and engagement. He is a multilingual professional who aims to provide clients with best-in-class tools, support and insights.

Prior to joining the London office of Okapi Partners, Marten served as Director of Shareholder Engagement, M&A and Corporate Advisory for the London-based shareholder intelligence firm Investor Update. He previously held positions at the London offices of Georgeson and CMi2i. Marten earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and management from the NHL Hogeschool in the Netherlands.
